Help! How do I get faster?
I have a lot of people that ask me in game about how I so fast. So here is a list of things that I do when I race. It's really simple ;)
1. Wear racing gear! I can not tell you how many times I’ve seen people complain about not winning (especially at championship races) and they’re racing bareback in a cute outfit. While there is nothing wrong with looking cute, it’s not going to help you win. Go through the racing gear inventory and determine what equipment is going to give you the best overall stats for you and your horse. Then go race!
2. Find yourself being really glitchy and laggy? Try adjusting your graphic settings in game. This will also help eliminate random stops. Go to the cellphone menu. Under options you’ll see a slider for adjusting the graphics. Move this all the way to the left (you will have to re-do this every time you log-on.) Play around with the vertical sync and post effect options. I usually keep these unchecked.
3. Find shortcuts! Just about every race has at least one shortcut, and you’ll find most players keep quiet about their shortcuts. That’s because we spend a lot of time racing a track over and over trying to find the shortest route. Just remember, the shortest distance is a straight line. Also, jumping does slow you slightly. You may find it faster to go around an obstacle rather then jumping over it.
4. Can’t see where you’re going during the championship races? I know I struggle with knowing when to jump cause I can’t see myself in a sea of horses. Some people wear colorful items to make themselves stand out. What I find works best for me is to add people in my group to my ignore list. Most people are aware of this and won’t get mad, just be sure to remove them from the list right after the race! Oh and be sure your deleting them from you ignore list, not your FRIEND list! Haha I've me that mistake a couple of times. ;)
5. Train your horse. Every time you or your horse goes up a level, so do some of your stats. If you’re a level 14 rider with a level 1 horse you won’t be able to beat level 14 riders with level 15 horses.
6. PRACTICE! The only way you’re going to get better is by practicing. Try a course with different horse and gear combinations, and using different paths. Watch your time, you’ll soon figure out what works best for that race.
